Step 1: Arrange your supplies.  To make 1 bunny you will need: 1 head, 4 chenille bumps (1 for arms, 2 chenille bumps folded in half for body/legs, 1 partial for tail), 8" pipe cleaner in body color + 3-4" pink pipe cleaner for ears, 1 vest, 1 bow and 1 piece of Dresden trim. 1-2 flowers, 1 carrot.

Step 2: Bend two chenille bumps in half to create the body and legs.  Pinch the top of the bumps together with your pliers so it will better fit in the spun cotton head.  Glue between the bumps with two small drops to hold the body together.  Let dry.

Step 3: Create arms by gluing 1 chenille bump to the back of the figure. Glue arms about 1/4" inch below the "neck" to allow space for the head later.  Let dry.

Step 4: Using needle-nose pliers, make the hole in the spun cotton head larger.  Set aside

Step 5: Cut vest pieces out of crepe paper.  On vest back, fold small tabs on shoulders and at sides.  Apply glue to shoulder tabs and glue vest pieces together.  Let dry.

Step 6: Put vest onto figure and glue at sides.  Let dry.  Put spun cotton head onto figure and adjust vest if needed.  Glue head into place.

Step 7: Glue Dresden trim down center of vest.  Glue bow under head.  Let dry.

Step 8: Cut a 4" piece of pipe cleaner.  Bend into an ear by creating two continuous petal shapes, one within the other -- a guide is shown on the template.   Pinch at base of ear to shape, and glue loose end to form ear.  Cut a 1-1/2" piece of pink pipe cleaner, bend into a "P" shape and glue on top of ear.  Press pieces together to make a unitized ear.  Repeat technique to make second ear.  Let dry.

Step 9: Glue ears onto head.  Let dry.

Step 10: To create a tail, cut a 1-1/2" piece from a bump.  Bend piece into a "C" shape.  If needed, trim to make a more round shape.  Glue tail in place just under edge of vest. Let dry.

Step 11: Use pliers to bend the chenille up about 1/4" to create feet.  Use pliers to create small loops that will serve as your bunny's "hands" for holding his flower and carrot.  Apply a small drop of glue in the loop then insert the wire stem of the flower.  Repeat for carrot.Let dry.

Step 12: Curl wired flower stem around pencil to make a decorative end.

Tips: Proportionally a 1" round head works best -- any smaller and the head seems too tiny.  A 1-1/4" oval shaped bunny head will also be charming.

Each pipe cleaner mixed pack has 3 stems per color -- that's enough of one color to make 4 pairs of ears with a little left over.

Use glue sparingly when glueing body section together -- too much glue can make the chenille seem matted and less fluffy.

Give your bunny character by gently bending one ear expressively.

He doesn't have to hold a carrot -- try a tiny egg, other festive item instead.
